There's an article in the NY Times about Joe Lieberman titled "Lieberman Finds Middle a Tricky Path." I'm just wondering what the headline writer means by "middle." Lieberman has been campaigning with the presumptive Republican nominee, making inaccurate and misleading claims about the presumptive Democratic nominee on television and in the papers, and has neglected his duties as chair of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, because to fulfill those duties would mean criticizing the President of the US and his party. Oh, and he's considering speaking at the Republican Convention. I'm not seeing much of a middle there.
And if the Democrats widen their majority in the Senate by the 4-6 seats they're expected to this November, then I'd really like to see a better Senator at the head of that committee. Someone less beholden to this mythical middle, perhaps.
