I don't get it
So, the House voted to override President Bush's veto of the Water Resources Development Act, which includes money for natural restoration projects, like restoration of the Everglades. I'm happy that they've done this -- it's important that we work to preserve natural spaces, and especially important that we work to take care of our water supplies.
The House voted 361-54 for the bill, far more than the two-thirds majority needed to override.
The Senate approved the bill 81-12 in September, a veto-proof margin signaling a vote to override as early as today.
The "I don't get it" part comes from Congress's inability to override any other veto. You know, like the veto about children's health care.
