Speaking of literacy tests
Following up on Bradley's post below about Jonah Goldberg's "let's get the filthy unwashed out of the voting booth" column, here's a link to an online version of the test you'd have had to take if you were black in Alabama before 1965 and wanted to vote. I scored 57 out of 67, and I'm an educated person with an interest in the subject. That's about 85%, and considering that there was no state rule that determined what a passing grade was, that very easily could have failed. Take the test and see how you do on it.
