More Monday Reading

On July 16, 1945 the United States exploded its first test of the atomic bomb in the New Mexico desert.

To honor the occassion when we began our race toward destruction of all life on the planet, I thought I'd introduce you to the work of Anna Letitia Barbauld (she's an early Romantic poet - very popular in her day). This poem, "The Mouse's Petition," is an early animal rights statement.

Enjoy.
